This ancient thatched cottage occupies a truly unique
situation on the west Dorset coast below Golden Cap (one of the highest hills
on the South Coast) and between the villages of Seatown and Charmouth. There
are no roads or traffic noise anywhere near. The only other
dwelling in the vicinity is the Trust's St.Gabriels Farmhouse
(used as holiday flats)
The cottage is probably about three hundred years old
and
contains many old timbers. A modern kitchen and shower
roomhas been added. There are three bedrooms (sleeping 5),
and a sitting room. Mains electricity and water. Although
everything necessary for a comfortable holiday is provided
(including storage heaters), this is not luxury accommodation.
An interior view - sitting room with kitchen beyond
and door to garden on the right.
This is a view of the St.Gabriels Valley from half way up Golden Cap. The location of the cottage is just right of the centre of the photograph.
.

This is a view of the beach - very quiet and often completely deserted. The path down the cliffs is steep. The cottage lies in the valley just below Golden Cap (background of this picture)
The cottage is available for summer holiday lettings (usually April to October inclusive). For further details and rents apply by email
